Happy 90th Birthday, Ely Rotary!  As President Ward Nelson led the singing of "Happy Birthday,"  President Elect Joe Owens brought in our birthday cake.   Celebrating with us were our Junior Rotarians (seen at the buffet) whose accomplishments were spotlighted during the program.

Coinciding with our birthday celebration, our gift to the city was being installed in Whiteside Park.  New benches now line Sheridan Street and picnic tables - some wheelchair accessible - dot the park.  As the photos show, young and old alike are benefitting.  This is part one of a two year project funded by our annual auction.
Ely Rotary Club has had a Change of Command, as Joe Owens assumed the Presidency by accepting the gavel from 2010-11 President Ward Nelson, assisted by former President Betsy Leustek.
Visitors are always welcome at our meetings!
And if you bring your flag, we'll give you one of ours to take home.

Ward Nelson is presented with a plaque marking his highly successful year as club president 2010-11.
Penny Jar Chairman Karen Zupancich for Pam Webster as she pours in a one-year accumulation of pennies.  Other individual donors, Dave & Sue Stoddard added their change collection totaling over $63.
Sons - and sons-in-law - of Rotarians were welcome guests at recent meetings.  Jason came all the way from Indonesia.  Nathan Leustek brought a map to show us all the places he's been.
Ely Rotarian John Cantrell reported on all the clubs he visited last winter as he maintained his attendance record.
DG Visit - 2010
The yellow "Ely Rotarian at Work" tee shirts were everywhere you looked at the Grand Ely Lodge on August 11.

The combination of generous and inventive donors, bidders that opened their wallets wide, and hard working Rotarians resulted in an evening of fun and a profit of $15,000 to be spent on community projects.  Check our Service Webpage to see how these funds are used & visit the Auction Blog:
