Tom returned from Sedona, Arizona reporting that the Sedona Rotary Club presented him with their club flag which he presented to Angela Campbell, Club President. The Ely Club also presented our club flag to the Sedona president.
The Ely Rotary Club is #1398. May 1st the Ely Club was established 103 years ago.

Fundraiser Casino Night will be on 8/16/2024 at Miner's Dry. Some responsibilities outside the actual event are ticket sales, set up, take down, sell tickets Blueberry Fest, apply for licenses and insurance. . Sounds Unlimited DJ Service.

Speaker Highlights:
Developing a 22 unit boutique hotel in the Ely Community Center
Has an agreement with the City of Ely to renovate and remodel the building
Working to obtain IRRB funding for demolition, work on the HVAC system and removing asbestos and other hazardous materials. This approval will begin the structural analysis
There is good funding and state tax incentives available for restoring historical buildings along with requirements and deadlines to secure the National Register of Historic Places (National Park Service) support resources.
Challenges include asbestos, HVAC system, water damage, unknowns in the structural analysis, and offstreet parking.
There are many funding pieces are coming together to move the project forward.
